I had my first day of teaching yesterday. Some students already knew lots of English, as far as simple phrases and many vocabulary words. Others barely know more English than I know Thai, so it is an experience to draw pictures, use gestures, and simplify words (not to mention a Thai/English Dictionary) to help them understand.
Our lessons come from books that were either adapted from other books or passed down from previous AFC trips. I got through the first lesson with all my students so far, though some have less homework because we finished early and had time to keep going.
